Author Distribution Agreement

Last updated 19 October 2026. PajamaInk is operated by True Bean Enterprises LLC, 418 Broadway STE R, Albany, NY 12207, United States. Questions: support@pajamaink.com

Who this is between

This agreement is between you (the author, or the publisher or agent who holds the rights) and True Bean Enterprises LLC, a New York limited liability company, which runs PajamaInk. You accept it when you send an ebook or audiobook for review or save payout details in your Studio. This is version 2026-10-16; we keep a record of which version you accepted and when.

What you let us do

You give PajamaInk a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, convert, display and distribute the editions you upload, to sell them (or give them away, if you make them free) to readers through the PajamaInk website and apps, to let readers download them for offline use, and to show the cover, description and a free sample (about the first 10% of an ebook, or the audio track you choose) to promote them. You keep your copyright and every other right. You can sell the same book anywhere else, unless another contract of yours (such as KDP Select) forbids it.

What you promise

Each time you send an edition for review you sign a rights declaration. In it you confirm:

• I own or control the electronic publishing rights to this book, in every country where PajamaInk offers it, and no contract (for example an exclusive deal with another store, such as KDP Select) stops me from publishing it here.

• I hold the rights holder's written authorisation to publish this book on PajamaInk, and I can show it if asked.

• The original work is in the public domain in the United States, and I've told readers in the book what new material (translation, notes, illustrations) I've added.

• Everything in it (text, cover, images, quotes, lyrics, fonts, audio) is mine or used with permission or under a licence that allows this.

• It doesn't defame anyone, invade anyone's privacy, or contain anything illegal, including any sexual content involving minors.

• The title, author name, description and cover are accurate and don't imitate another book or author.

• I accept the PajamaInk Author Distribution Agreement, and I'll be responsible if any of this turns out to be untrue.

You also tell us how you hold the rights and whether AI wrote any of the text. If any of this is untrue you are responsible for the consequences, and you will cover PajamaInk's reasonable costs of any claim it causes (including refunds to readers).

Review and removal

Our team reviews every edition before it goes live and may ask for changes or decline it. We may take an edition off sale at any time if we receive a copyright or legal complaint, if it breaks our Acceptable Use policy, or if we can't confirm your rights. You can take an edition off sale yourself at any time. Readers who already have a book keep it in their library unless we refund them.

Prices and money

You set the price (free, or $0.99 to $99.99). When PajamaInk sells your book, the reader pays True Bean Enterprises LLC through Stripe and PajamaInk takes no commission: we pay you the full price of each sale less Stripe's processing fee on that sale (we show the exact fee for every sale in your Studio). A sale can be paid out 30 days after it was made; we send what you are owed to your PayPal account once a month when it is at least $10 (smaller amounts carry over). If a reader is refunded or wins a chargeback, that sale is taken off what we owe you, including from a later payout if it was already paid. Any sales tax or VAT we must charge on top of the price is ours to collect and pay.

Tax

Before your first payout we need a W-9 (US persons) or W-8BEN / W-8BEN-E (everyone else). If you are a US person and we pay you $600 or more in a calendar year we will send you a Form 1099. You are responsible for tax on your own income.

Ending this

Either of us can end this agreement for any edition at any time: you by taking it off sale, we by giving you notice. Sales already made are still paid out, and readers who bought or claimed the book keep it.

Changes

If we change this agreement we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the change applies to you, and ask you to accept the new version the next time you send an edition for review.
