What we collect
Your email address and, if you give it, your name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, your email address (with Apple this can be a private relay address) and an account id from them, and nothing else: no contacts, no password. The authors you follow, the books you save, and your taste-quiz answers. Whether you chose to share your email with an author, the wording you agreed to, and when.
How we measure the site
Everything we measure is first-party: collected by PajamaInk, kept by PajamaInk, never sold or passed to advertising networks. We never store your IP address or your full browser details.
Without your permission we only count page views and page errors, using a code that changes every day, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next. If you allow analytics cookies we also record which pages you visit, what you click, how far you scroll, page speed and errors, linked to a random id (and to your account if you are signed in), so we can see what works. If you allow marketing cookies we remember which campaign or ad first brought you here, for 90 days. We honour Global Privacy Control. Change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Things you do on PajamaInk
We record the main steps you take so we can run and improve the service: signing up and signing in, joining the waitlist, applying, paying, publishing a profile, following an author and clicking a buy button. These records are tied to your account and deleted with it.
Who sees what
Authors see counts, never who you are, unless you tick the box to share your email with them. Founding seat payments are handled by PayPal and book purchases by Stripe; card and PayPal account details never reach PajamaInk. Emails are delivered by our email provider.
Your rights
You can download your data or delete your account at any time from Account and privacy. You can stop sharing your email with any author there too. For anything else, email us and we will answer within one month.
How long we keep things
Account data until you delete your account. Site analytics and visit counts for 13 months. Cookie choices for three years, as proof of what you agreed to. Emails we send, for 30 days. Payment records for as long as tax law requires.
